Information You Enter
Text entered into a name, phone, or address search widget is sent to the outside provider that powers that result. San Luis Obispo Residents Directory does not keep a copy of the submitted search on its own servers. If you contact the publisher, the mailbox receives the information in your message and uses it to respond or handle the request.
Information Logged Automatically
Hosting systems may record ordinary technical details such as IP address, browser type, pages viewed, and timestamps. These logs can be reviewed in aggregate to keep the pages available and understand which resources are used. Cookies or similar tools may support basic analytics and, where applicable, advertising measurement.
How the Data Is Used
Automatic data is used to run the reference, find faults, measure traffic, and improve the pages. We do not sell visitor lists or build an individual profile from ordinary browsing. Information sent in a message is used for the purpose of replying or addressing that message.
Links Beyond This Reference
Pages link to county and state portals, court services, library collections, archives, and sponsored search tools. The destination's privacy policy governs what happens after a visitor leaves this reference and submits information there. Availability, pricing, data practices, and retention are controlled by the outside service.
Who Can Receive Data
Hosting and support vendors may process server logs for the limited purposes described above. Analytics or advertising partners may receive the automatic information their tools collect. Data may also be disclosed when valid legal process requires it. We do not disclose it for unrelated purposes.
Security and Retention
The pages use an encrypted connection, and logs are retained only while the purposes above require them. There are no visitor accounts here, so the service does not keep a password or user profile that could be exposed. No security measure can promise absolute protection, but access is limited to the operational need.
Visitors Under 18
The reference is intended for adults and is not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If a parent or guardian believes a minor sent information to the publisher, contact us so the material can be reviewed and deleted where appropriate.
California Privacy Choices
Depending on the circumstances and applicable exceptions, California's Consumer Privacy Act and California Privacy Rights Act, Civil Code section 1798.100 and following, provide rights to know, delete, correct, opt out of sale or sharing, limit sensitive-data use, and receive equal treatment. Covered businesses generally answer a qualifying request within 45 days, subject to an allowed extension. These rights concern data held by the covered business, not the county, city, court, library, or state custodian that maintains an official record.
California's Delete Request and Opt-out Platform, DROP, offers a state route for requests to registered data brokers. Consumer access began January 1, 2026, and the research states that registered brokers began mandatory recurring processing August 1, 2026. DROP does not erase government originals. To ask what this reference may hold, use the Contact page; a request may require enough information to locate the mailbox or limited server-log data.
Changes to This Policy
A revised policy will be posted here with its updated wording. Continued use after a change means the new version governs future visits. Questions about this policy may be sent through the Contact page.
